Our spaniel is old and sleeps a lot so her ears get warm and yeasty . I find Epiotic an effective gentle cleaner that although used frequently does not cause any discomfort and keeps her ears clean and smelling nice .

If my dog has a yeast infection can I use epiotic every day instead of twice a week until it is better?
Vet recommended I could use it daily before putting ear drops prescribed in.

My dog doesn't like chemical smells
This product has a 'clean' scent, artifical but slightly floral and appealing.

Hi can this be used on a puppy who is nearly 12 weeks old ?
Yes, Epi-Otic can be used in puppies. I recommend reading our blog 'Itchy Ears' for more information on how to clean safely and effectively.

I want one without stirods
Steroids are a prescription only medication ingredient so you cannot find an over the counter ear cleaner containing this unfortunately. If you would like further advice on itchy ears please read our blog, linked here.

My 7 yr old c’poo has had troublesome ears since I got her as a puppy. Mites/smelly discharge. She’s had antibiotics in the past. Otravine ear wash/Syrolan. None have worked. Had swabs taken. The only thing that worked & kept her free for 12 months was syringing under anaesthetic. Do you think episodic might help.
We strongly advise following your vet's advice closely for this. Epi-Otic is an ear cleaner and so it may help clear the wax and can treat mild ear infections, but your dog's specific ear problems sound very complicated and it is best to follow your vets advice on what next steps are needed.

Hello, do you stock Virbac Epiotic Advance Ear Cleanser?
Regards CAnderson.
The 'Advanced' ear cleanser is not the UK authorised product so we cannot stock this. I recommend ordering the normal Epi-Otic instead which is effectively the UK version.

Does this work on rabbits please?
This cleaner is intended for use in dog/cat ears. It may be suitable for rabbit ears but I cannot ensure this is safe so I advise discussing with your vet before using it in your rabbits ears. Many vets tend to use Otoclean vials for rabbit ears but this is also not licensed for dogs/cats so you should only use it alongside veterinary advice. Unfortunately there are no rabbit specific ear drops.

How many times do you use this product? Do you use it daily?
This depends on the problem you are treating. In a healthy ear you should not clean with a product like Epi-Otic more than once every 2 weeks or so, excessive cleaning can predipose to infection. If you are treating an ear infection then daily or twice daily cleaning may be required. I recommend you read our blog 'Itchy ears' for more information, or chat to your prescribing vet if your dog is being treating for an infection.

Will the Epiotic treatment kill ear mites please?
Cleaners like Epi-Otic will clear waxy debris that the mites live on and so help treat the issue but they won't physically kill the mites themselves. They are very useful if used to treat an ear mite infestation though.
