My vet put my cat on a similar product which is quite a lot more expensive. I found RenaKal which is the identical formula and is considerably cheaper. My vet ok'd it, which is good cuz my cat will be on this supplement probably for life. It must taste good cuz he sits and waits for me to put it in his soup twice a day, and he laps it up. I'll find out in August how effective it is on his kidneys, but I can see an improvement in his demeanour since being on it. Would recommend people try it

Tried this instead of KaminoX , I have 2 18yr old cats on it and they recently had blood tests. The one with kidney problems is now stable and her potassium levels have improved. She has exactly the same dose as she was having with Kaminox 1ml twice a day, the other cat just had it once a day and all his blood results were normal. Would definitely recommend Renakal. I prefer to use a syringe rather than the dropper though.

my cat is 15 her weight is 3.4 is stage 2 on Royal renal wet and dry but not really eating either without boiled chicken, i brought Renakal and drop it in her food with water she is now eating bit better ,id like to know if there are side effects common ones ?
It’s great to hear that your cat is eating a bit better with the addition of VioVet RenaKal™ Potassium & Amino Acid Liquid. This supplement is designed to support kidney function and help with electrolyte balance, which can be really beneficial in cases of chronic kidney disease like stage 2 renal issues.
Common side effects are generally mild but can include occasional digestive upset such as vomiting or diarrhea, especially when first starting the supplement. If you notice any unusual behavior, worsening symptoms, or if your cat becomes lethargic or stops eating again, it’s important to contact your vet promptly.
Always follow the dosing instructions carefully, and it’s a good idea to keep your vet informed about any new supplements or changes in your cat’s diet to ensure the best care.

My cat weigh 2kg she is small she is 16 years old
However, it's crucial to consult your veterinarian before administering this supplement to ensure it's appropriate for your cat's specific health needs. RenaKal™ is typically used to manage low blood potassium levels, often associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and should only be given under veterinary supervision

I’ve just ordered this in the hope my cat will like this. We did have Kaminox, but he’s now refusing any food that we’ve added it to. Can you give any advice on the best way to administer it ? We’ve tried the straight in the mouth approach and that ended in disaster, is it best just to try and sneak it into food, or are there any other methods that might work?
Yes — VioVet RenaKal™ Potassium & Amino Acid Liquid can work as a replacement for Kaminox, provided your cat has low potassium levels and your vet agrees. The dose is similar, and many people have switched successfully.

Hello I just received Renakal for my 27kg dog not sure how much to give him ,can I put it with his dry Eukanuba he has bloods done by his vet and results showed low in potassium Thankyou Mrs McCourt.🐾
The dose for this supplement is as follows:
Shake well before use. Give 2ml per 4.5kg using the built in measuring pipette 1-3 times daily, or as recommended by your vet.
Your 27kg dog will therefore need 12ml one to three times daily. It is best to discuss with your vet regarding the exact doseage as this is often tapered based on the response of the potassium levels to the addition of the supplement.
Yes this can be administered with food.

Hi there, could you advise the best way to use this product please. Would you use it in a kidney care kibble or just in ordinary pet food?
This supplement is best used alongside veteterinary advice. If your cat is already on a special kidney diet then you may not need the additional Potassium that it provides. The amino acids will be beneficial however you should check with your vet it is suitable for your specific pet's kidney disease.
