Cat eye infection/streaming

Louise

My cat’s eyes have been streaming and inflamed on and off for 6 weeks now. The vet suggests it is a virus. They seem sore and the watery discharge bothers her. Will this wash help her eyes?

  • VioVet Staff

This eye wash will help clean the eyes but may not necessarily treat any underlying viral infection. It will help prevent any bacterial infection secondary to the underlying viral issue though. It is advised you follow your vet's advice primarily on treating this.

Safe for eye surface?

Nat

Is this for use of cleaning/flushing the surface of your dog's eye? Alot of "eye cleaners" only seem to be for use around the eye not on/in the eye itself. So is this one safe for that purpose? And what are the ingredients? There are none listed...

  • VioVet Staff

This product is safe for use directly within the eye itself as well as surrounding the eye, as required.

Horses eye

My horse has scratched his eye, what would be the best treatment. Thank you.

  • VioVet Staff

Yes this product can be safely used to flush any dirt/debris in the eye and clean it. It is a good choice for cleaning an eye that has been possibly infected. I recommend getting your vet to rule out any physical damage to the eye itself though, such as corneal scratches. You will need prescription medications to resolve the issue if there is corneal damage.
