Description

Avipro Plus is recommended to help maintain digestive health in dogs, and is particularly valuable when animals are undergoing stress or veterinary treatment for long and short term conditions. The prebiotic is supported by the probiotic to help the natural bacteria of the dog's gut, sustaining the right conditions to allow the friendly bacteria to re-establish and thrive. The added vitamins help replace those lost during periods of stress and help support the immune system.

Digestion problems in dogs can be caused by a wide range of variables such as veterinary treatment, diet, stress, old age and re-homing and keeping on top of this can be tricky. Symbiotics (a combination of prebiotics and probiotics) create the perfect partnership in your dog’s gut in order to sustain the perfect conditions for the natural gut flora to re-establish and thrive, and fight off any bad bacteria. Maintaining healthy bacteria also plays a big part in supporting the immune system, and has an important role in the overall health of your dog, extending beyond the gut and into the rest of the digestive system such as the stomach and pancreas.

Dogs can be particularly fussy about their food, and we have tried to combat this by ensuring that not only can you sprinkle Avipro Plus onto food, you can also add to the drinking water in a bid to avoid detection.

Avipro Plus contains:

  • Bacillus subtilis probiotic
  • Fructo-oligosaccharide soluble fibre prebiotic
  • Vitamins A, C and E to compensate for the losses occurring during stress / illness
  • Electrolytes to maintain adequate levels during bouts of diarrhoea

Instructions for use: Avipro Plus can be sprinkled onto food at a rate of 1 scoop per day. For dogs in excess of 15kg use 2 scoops per day. You can also add Avipro Plus to the drinking water at a rate of 1 scoop per 200ml.

Please note : Avipro Plus is for Dogs and Avipro Avian for birds.

Dextrose, sodium sulphate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, short-chain fructo-oligosaccharide soluble fibre prebiotic, vitamins A 200,00 IU, C 5,000mg, E 200mg

Q & A

Suitable for cats

Angela

Is this suitable for cats as well.

  • VioVet Staff

This product is only inteded for use in dogs so I cannot advise it is safe in cats. However we stock a wide variety of similar supplements that are safe for use in cats. Our own brand ReguTum Fibre Care is a good suitable alternative.

AviPro - Suitable for Avian Use?

Bird K

Hi,

There is another product called the Avipro Avian on the market. How does it compare to that?

Are the components similar and can be administered safely to small birds?

  • VioVet Staff

Avipro Avian is based on Avipro Plus so they are very similar but Avipro Avian contains the new EU licensed probiotic organism. Avipro Plus is safe and suitable for all species including small birds.

Sensitive stomach

Debi

Hi my cat suffers with a sensitive stomach. Bouts of vomiting and diarrhoea with blood in poo. He has had all the tests which came back normal. He was put on sensitive control food which didn't help and he hates, going days without eating. Would this product be suitable for him ?

  • VioVet Staff

If your vets have not found any other underlying cause then this product would be worth a try. Whatever is going on there is obviously some upset in the gastrointestinal tract and the Avipro should help to restore the natural gut flora back to normal. A bland diet of something like chicken or fish with rice, if he will eat it, would also be useful.
