This product seems to keep the cat's cystitis at bay. Fussy creature but likes the taste, so no problem getting it in to him which can be a battle.

I've no idea if this works as the cat wouldn't lick it off her paws as suggested. I did try thinning the thick paste with water to syringe down her but just got in a mess. My cat is a very fussy madam though.

Healing and prevention?

Sumayah

Does this heal the crystals and does it prevent them from reoccurring in the future?

  • VioVet Staff

It depends on the type of crystals you are trying to treat. If it is struvite crystals then urinary care paste should help to dissolve them and reduce the risk of urinary stones reoccuring. However this product will not be useful if it is calcium oxalate crystals that you are treating.

Renal failure

Wilma Tam

Is 'UTI Paste For Cats' suitable for cats with Chronic Renal failure?

  • VioVet Staff

This product should do no harm in cases of chronic renal failure. It is more likely to be of benefit to cats which have adequate kidney function, but are prone to recurrent cystitis.
