It's a nice heavy solid ceramic which doesn't get pushed around by over eager pets and with regular use should last indefinitely. It slows my cat down who tends to eat so fast she would throw up but that hasn't really been a problem since I bought this item months ago. I'd highly recommend this if your pet eats too fast.

Like the fact it's ceramic rather than plastic. Seems to slow her eating and she doesn't have any problems eating from it
