The SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat flap is suitable for multi-pet households to control the access of your pets both into and out of the house. This allows you to restrict some pets to indoors-only, while others are allowed outside and back in again. Any intruder animals attempting entry are kept out. The DualScan Microchip cat flap is the first of its kind to have a scanner on the inside and the outside of the home.
The SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap reads a cat's existing identification microchip (no collar required). It is compatible with all international microchip formats, stores up to 32 microchip numbers, runs on 4 x AA batteries for over 12 months and features a two part construction for easier installation. It also fits into doors up to 6cm thick with no accessories and can also be installed in glass from 3mm to 6cm in thickness - a glass mount adaptor will be required for all glass installations. For non-microchipped pets you can use the SureFlap collar tag.

Realy good if you want to keep certain cats from going out side

She's not supposed to be going outside but has worked out how to open the catflap from the inside and pull it towards her and slip out under. Back to the drawing board... and in the meantime I've had to resort to locking the catflap and opening the door for my other cat like before I installed this.

If you have a clever cat this will not stop them getting out. My 2 older boys have been outdoor cats all their lives but recently it's become less safe around here so I've wanted to keep my 2 kittens inside. However one of the has worked out how to knock the tab down and pull the flap up towards her, and squeeze out under the flap. She's got out multiple times now which I'm not happy about. If your cats are less persistent, less clever or less likely to try and escape constantly then this might work for you.

Needed an exact replacement to replace existing flap which worked for 4.5 years for 2 cats which used it loads. It is a great cat flap, stops the neighbourhood cats coming in, allows my boys easy access, can be manually locked to either keep them in or out or totally locked. The chip programming is simple and allows for an individual cat to be prevented from exiting if necessary.

SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap is what we need for our two cats. I bought a new one because I moved house but I have been using it for years. It's well-constructed, easy to use and helps you to keep one of the cats indoors if needed.

What are the dimensions
Hello,
Thank you for your question.
Please find the dimensions below:
142mm (W) x 120mm (H)
This dimension is the smallest area of the cat flap that your cat will have to enter.
165mm (W) x 171mm (H)
The size of hole required to fit your cat flap.
210mm (W) x 210mm (H)

I hope this helps.

I let my cats out in the morning but like to keep them in at night. Can a timer be set so they can only get in but not out after a certain time or will I need to do it manually?
Hi Mary,
There is no timer control on the DualScan. You would need to lock it manually when your cats come in at night.
Best wishes,
VioVet.
