Specific (Dechra) Digestive Support is a food that has been specifically developed for dogs with acute or chronic gastrointestinal problems. This includes acute or chronic gastrointestinal disease with associated diarrhoea, vomiting and/or flatulence, Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, malabsorption, maldigestion or Colitis. The recipe has been specially formulated to be very gentle on the stomach and to support the digestive system and immune system. It contains highly digestible ingredients to aid metabolism and helps your dog gain the maximum intake of nutrients possible. An increased level of electrolytes will help compensate for the losses incurred during vomiting or diarrhoea. Added egg powder contain egg immunoglobulins which aid the digestive tract. The products also contain Psyllium Husk which will help to regulate gastrointestinal tract acitivity and will also protect intestinal mucosa. Additionally, Yucca extract is a well known ingredient that helps to reduce the smell of faeces and gasses.

Switched my dogs diet from small bread Specific brand as she has a sensitive stomach and would vomit several times a week- worked like a charm, no more vomiting and she likes Specific CID more (probably due to the higher calorie/fat contents)

Specific does what it says. Poor Hercules was suffering severe gastrointestinal issues diarrhoea, vomiting and the vet didn't solve the issue using Royal Canin. We had used the wet food on an old Jack Russell before so bought this for Hercules and improvement within 48 hours. He is now heading back towards his normal food and he is 14 years old with sensitivities. We were sad we hadn't bought it him sooner as he suffered longer than he needed to. Highly recommend Specific

What are the side effects of Specific dog food
This is a food so there are no listed side effects. If your pet is allergic or intolerant to any of the ingredients then you may see signs of that allergy/intolerance. This risk is exactly the same for any diet though.

My Shih Tzus are suffering with diarrhoea and although the vet doesnt want to see them yet i know this food may help however, my question is how do i know how much to feed them? My sons 5 month cockapoo has the same issue and needs to have 1half a tray 3x a day.
This feeding guide depends on the weight of your dog. If you could email the weight along with your question to [email protected] then we would be happy to help further.
