Specific CJD Joint Support contains unique high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA for support of a healthy joint function and mobility. It also contains psyllium husk which absorbs several times its weight in liquid and is known for its beneficial effect on the regulation of the gastrointestinal tract activity. Since overweight dogs put extra load on the locomotor system it is important to monitor the body weight and condition of dogs carefully and adjust the feeding advice accordingly in order to reach or maintain an ideal body weight. Substitution of present fatty acids with EPA and DHA from CJD Joint Support into the cell membranes takes time. For this reason it can take up to 6-12 weeks before the full effect of the diet can be seen.

The daily individual requirement may vary depending on factors such as breed, environment, season, activity etc. Especially in dogs with a low level of physical activity, the daily energy need is relatively low. Overweight should be prevented since this will put extra load on the locomotor system. It is advisable to continue monitoring the condition

I have 18 german shepherd, was diagnosed with hip displasia a year ago, was reccomended this from our vets along with metacam, definate improvement in his mobility since being on this diet, infact he acts and runs like any normal dog now, it is a lot cheaper on this site than ordering from my vets.

We were recommended Specific Joint Support for Charlie by our vet. He's had both his back legs operated on as he had joint problems. Due to lack of exercise he became overweight and the vet recommended he was put on a diet. He has 200g a day and has lost so much weight! He's so much happier now and more energetic. This food has helped my Rottie amazingly. She has sadly got shot elbows and since eating this food she has been much more active however it is in combination with anti inflammatories. Do feel it is slightly over priced

What age dog is this spcifically for please?
This diet is for adult dogs. Whether your dog is classed as 'adult' depends on the breed. Smaller breeds reach full size earlier, at around 12 months old, but larger breeds can take up to 18 yo 24 months to be classed as adult. This is a veterinary diet so you are best discussing it's use with your vet anyway, they will be able to advise further.
