Having just started on 15th June’26, my dog is eating the food but it’s still early days.

This product was recommended to me by a Pet nutritionist/Vet as my dog had developed severe gut/intestinal problems and he was basically living on boiled rice as he couldn't tolerate anything else. I slowly introduced him to SPECIFIC CID-LF Digestive Support and he's been on it now for about 4 months and is doing great. I'm so thankful it suited him.

Our dog developed acute pancreatitis. Our vet recommended low fat content food. We also needed a maize free food for her allergies. She has recovered rapidly on this food and eats it all. We were pleased that it also includes additional ingredients for immunity and digestive support.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding SPECIFIC (Dechra) CID-LF Digestive Support Dog Food, including answers from our team.
Ann Turner
Is this the low fat version? It says low fat on the bag illustrated but does not state low fat and my dog has to have the low fat version.
Yes, Dechra SPECIFIC™ CID-LF Digestive Support Low Fat Dry Dog Food is indeed the low-fat version. The "CID-LF" designation stands for "Canine Intestinal Diet – Low Fat," specifically formulated for dogs requiring a low-fat diet due to conditions like pancreatitis, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, or hyperlipidemia.
The product's fat content is notably low, with an analytical composition of approximately 6.6% crude fat per 100g, aligning with the requirements for low-fat diets. Additionally, it provides 1.51% omega-3 fatty acids, which can be beneficial for dogs with digestive issues. The formula is designed to be highly digestible, using ingredients like hydrolyzed salmon protein and tapioca, and includes additives such as AuraGuard to support gut barrier integrity and a balanced microbiome.
This diet is suitable for adult dogs needing digestive support and a lower-calorie diet, especially those with conditions requiring fat restriction. It's available in 2kg, 7kg, and 12kg bags.
