Easy to use effective and Zeneca likes it

I keep some Regutum at home to use whenever my dog has eaten something which disagrees with her. She laps it up and it is gentle and effective. It works as well as more expensive alternatives.

This is a great product that my dog loves. I don't have any trouble getting him to take this probiotic paste. Its comes in a syringe that is labelled with measurements for ease. my dog sometimes get a unset stomach and can get loose stools, this has helped to harden them up.

good product at good price

This paste is effective. During an incident recently when my Yorkiepoo had rather prolonged diarrhoea he was given a binding paste to get him right. I was impressed by it and wanted to keep some at hand. During this lockdown getting to the vet is complicated so I went online and found ReguTum. I have used it twice since and it has worked a treat. It's a different brand name and colour but in essence does the same thing and also slightly cheaper.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding ReguTum™ Probiotic Paste for Cats & Dogs, including answers from our team.
Lucille McGrath
What age can RegTum be used from?
Hi Lucille,
It is safe to use from a young age, but if you want to use it in puppies younger than 8 weeks, we'd recommend checking with your vet first.
If your puppy is weaned and eating solids then there should be no problem in either mixing ReguTum into their food, or feeding directly from the syringe. I'd recommend ordering the 15ml or 30ml as the nozzles are narrower and dispense the paste more thinly for small mouths.
I hope this is helpful!
Kind regards,
Danielle

Is regutum the same as canigest
Hi John,
Thanks for your interest in ReguTum. It's not exactly the same but it's a very similar product. They both aim to re-establish the beneficial bacteria in the dog's gut and firm up stools, and they would both be great options to support dogs with digestive upset.
It contains bentonite clay (Canigest contains kaolin clay) for the natural binding agent that helps to firm up the faeces and supports the intestinal lining. ReguTum a higher level of probiotics per ml than most other brands (typically has 50% more) in the form of Enterococcus faecium maintain a good level of beneficial bacteria in the gut. Fructo-oligosaccharides are used in both products as prebiotics which provide nourishment for the friendly bacteria.
Canigest also has some glutamine which supports the cells lining the gut, and ReguTum doesn't contain this.
I hope this helps!

I,m having difficulty getting the right dosage on the syringe, my dog requires the 3 ml dose but can't tell where that is.
Hi Kathie,
Thanks for your email - I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with getting the required amount. Feeding less than 5ml is a bit more tricky on the 60ml syringe, but the amount fed can be adjusted up or down depending on a dog's needs - you can safely give much more than the recommended amount with this product.
I've just had a play with the syringes and I think that every 1/4 turn of the dial is about 1ml, so if you do 3 x 1/4 turns, this should give you 3ml. Alternatively, you can turn the dial enough to give you 5ml, and then do half a turn backwards if this is easier.
If you're still struggling, you can use 5ml instead to make it easier, but do let me know. The 15ml and 30ml have each ml marked individually and I'm hoping we can change this on the 60ml in future batches :-)
I hope this helps!
Kind regards,
Danielle

How much should i give a 20kg Staffie per day?
Hello,
We'd recommend giving 5ml twice a day to a 20kg dog.
If the problem is resolved and you have some paste left, you can keep it in a cool dry place for next time. The paste can be used right up to the expiry date, even after opening.
Kind regards,
Danielle

Hi,
My dog has just gone 10 years old, and has started to suffer from digestion problems. I have been looking at the reviews of your product and they seem Fantastic. However, I can not see any preservatives listed on your product and I am extremely conscious about what my dog eats. Can you confirm the product is preservative free?
Hi Sean,
Thanks for getting in touch, it's great to hear you have found the reviews helpful.
ReguTum Probiotic Paste is primarily preserved with the sunflower oil and peanut oil, as this protects the live bacteria until they reach the small intestine.
It also contains an antioxidant listed in our ingredients as 'Antioxidant E320 B.H.A 1970mg/kg'. It is a commonly used and potent antioxidant which means that only very small amounts are needed, and it's purpose is to protect the fats/oils from oxidising so that the paste does not go off. The concentration used in our paste is less than 2g per 1000g, and a dog would typically have 5-10g paste a day when in need of dietary support for loose stools.
I hope this is helpful - do let me know if you have any other questions!
Kind regards,
Danielle

Our 14 yr old beagle still loves his food but recently is producing some bad wind, he can poo up to 5 times on a good walk which of course gets runnier each time, would a short course of regu tum help? Thank you
Hi Judy,
If this has been happening daily for more than a week or two, it would be best to get him checked by a vet to make sure there is no serious underlying cause that needs treatment.
If it has only happened for a few days, ReguTum would help to firm up his stools and also ensure he has enough of the friendly bacteria in his gut to help with normal function. It's safe to use long-term but if this condition doesn't clear up in a week, speak to his vet.
