Description

ReguTum™ Probiotic Paste is specially formulated, highly palatable and easy to use. It combines three core ingredients that work together to help support gut function and aid in maintaining the natural microflora balance in dogs and cats.

  • Bentonite clay is a natural binding agent that helps to firm up the faeces and supports the intestinal lining.
  • The high level of probiotics in the form of Enterococcus faecium maintain a good level of beneficial bacteria in the gut.
  • Fructo-oligosaccharides (prebiotics) provide nourishment for the probiotics and other friendly bacteria.

ReguTum™ Probiotic Paste comes in user-friendly, calibrated syringes for simple administration. Either give directly or mix into food. Can be used alone or along with medication prescribed by your veterinary surgeon.

For long-term digestive support, we'd recommend trying ReguTum™ Fibre Care.

The oil base of ReguTum™ Probiotic Paste preserves the probiotic bacteria, and they are activated only after they are ingested and reach the small intestine.

Long term use

E

Hi,

Can this be given to cats long term for general gut aid?

Thanks in advance

  • VioVet Staff

This can be used in the long term however it is not best suited for this use. It is advised to use a supplement like ReguTum Fibre Care or ReguTum Gastroinestinal Powder for long term use instead.

Can this be used for constipation alleviation?

rachel

can this be used for constipation alleviation?

  • VioVet Staff

This product is best for helping firm stools, for example if your dog has diarrhoea. If you are looking for a product to help with constipation then I suggest a laxative like Laxapet. It is important you are certain the problem is constipation before treating for it though. Ideally you should see your vet to get the issue diagnosed.

What is dosage for 35kilo dog? Working out compared to other brands but your page doesn't give info. Basically is it only cheaper if dosage the same if need larger volume each time it not worth the swap

  • VioVet Staff

The dose for a 35kg dog is 7ml twice daily. It is advised to purchase a 60ml syringe for this use as this will give a good 4 day course.

  • VioVet Staff

This can be given before, during or after food. It is usually easiest given added to the feed.

Regutum

Sue Chambers

My dog, Fhell, has had ongoing diarrhoea and been on Regutum , until it was discovered he had a B12 deficiency. He’s on cobalaplex for this and doing great! I have been using Regutum fibre care as a supplement since diagnosis as well but now have two tubes of probiotic paste that expires in May 22. I always keep some in stock just in case! He’s had good motions for months now…
So as not to waste it can I add this to his food instead of the powder??

  • VioVet Staff

Yes you can use the paste instead of the powder temporarily. They differ mainly in that ReguTum Fibre Care provides additional fibre, and the paste contains more stool firming ingredients. They both provide the same probiotic and so should support the gut in a similar way.

How long can you keep an open tube for?

Roxana A.

  • VioVet customer since 2021
  • From: Bedfordshire, United Kingdom

Hi! I was wondering how long an open tube would be alright for? Doesn't seem to say on the page, or I can't see it at least.

  • VioVet Staff

If kept according to the storage conditions (in a cool dry place) with the cap on then this will keep until the expiry stated on the syringe itself. You may need to discard any paste at the tip of the syringe if it has been a few days/weeks since treatment as this can harden as it dries exposed to the air.
