Dietetic complementary feed

Specific aim of nutrition: For the maintenance of normal digestion and electrolyte balance.

Species: Calves, foals, lambs, goat and piglets.

Uses: A supportive product for animals recovering from digestive disturbance (diarrhoea).

Composition: Rice flour, 10%; Algae extract, 7.5%; Milk serum powder, 5%; Maize starch, 5%; Dried beer yeast, 4%; Ground carob, 3%; Carrot flour, 2.5%; Sodium bicarbonate, 2.5%; Sodium chloride, 2.5%; Magnesium chloride hexahydrate, 1%.

Additives and contents:

• Vitamins, provitamins and substances chemically defined with analogous effect:

Vitamin A, 135,000 U.1./kg; Vitamin D3, 20,000 U.l. /kg; Nicotinamide, 2.5 g/kg; Sodium ascorbate, 2.5 g/kg;

Vitamin B1 HCI, 1.25 g/kg; Vitamin E (a-tocoferol), 0.75 g/kg; Vitamin B2 sodium phosphate, 0.5 g/kg;

Calcium pantothenate, 0.5 g/kg; Vitamin B12, 2.5 mg/kg.

• Emulsifying and stabilizing agents, thickeners and gelling agents:

Lecithin (E 322), 50 g/kg; Pectin, 10 g/kg.

• Carbohydrate sources:

Rice flour, Algae extract, Maize starch, Ground carob, Dried beer yeast and Carrot flour.

• Water content: 5-8%

Analytical constituents: Crude fibre, 20-25%; Crude protein, 6-11%; Crude ashes, 7-10%; Crude oils and crude fats, < 5%; Chlorides, 2-3%; Calcium, 1-2%; Sodium, 1-2%; Potassium, 0%; Lysine, 0%; Methionine, 0%;

Administration & Preparation:

• Calves and foals: 1 OOg per day administered once daily or divided into two applications. Administer from

1 to 7 days (1 to 3 days if fed exclusively). Dilute 50g in 1 L of warm water or milk.

• Lambs, goat kids & weaned piglets: 20g per day, administered once daily or divided into two administrations.

Administer from 1 to 7 days (1 to 3 days if fed exclusively). Dilute 1Og in 20ml of warm water or milk.
