Plaqtiv+® Oral Care Water Additive is scientifically formulated to freshen breath, help fight tartar and promote good oral hygiene for cats and dogs.
Plaqtiv+® contains patented, Xpersiv™ technology which disrupts biofilm development on the surface of the tooth and, thus, formulation of tartar. Plaqtiv+® Water Additive is part of the Plaqtiv+® Oral Home Care range, which includes Plaqtiv+® Spray, Plaqtiv+® Toothpaste and Plaqtiv+® Wipes.

Instructions
Add 2 capfuls to 600ml of your pet’s drinking water (1 capful = 10ml) every time you refill the bowl.

Is it possible to have a small sample of the liquid additive. I’ve read on this website and heard from other dog owners, that their pets won’t touch the water with it in. It says flavorless but someone told me it has mint in it, which my dog won’t touch
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a sample for this product nor does Plaqtiv+.

Will this product help with the removal of existing tartar, i.e. by softening it. It is not currently too bad and I'm keeping plaque at bay by brushing every day.
For your 4.5-year-old rescue dog with pre-existing tartar, Plaqtiv+ can be beneficial in preventing further tartar accumulation. However, it may not be effective in softening or removing the existing tartar. Regular brushing, as you're already doing, is one of the most effective methods for controlling plaque and preventing tartar buildup. Additionally, professional dental cleanings performed by a veterinarian can help remove existing tartar and maintain oral health.
