Fine sand with shell partials, this absorbs moisture and virtually all smells, the small 3kg bag is quite small better suited to smaller budgie or canary cages , I used over half the bag in one go in a medium parrot cage and could have used a few more to be at the 10mm thick recomendation, I usually source 25kg bags of this locally but we’re out of stock but violet is much cheaper so I’ll be buying the bigger bag next time, good quality product that does exactly what it says on the tin
