Palladia is used to treat intermediate and high grade mast cell tumours affecting the skin of dogs if they cannot be surgically removed. Palladia tablets are normally given on alternate days, with or without food. Palladia can be given for as long as it remains effective at preventing further growth of the tumour and as long as no significant side effects occur. A number of side effects are possible, including abnormalities affecting the blood and ulceration of the gut lining. It is important that ongoing veterinary assessment is maintained to ensure that treatment is effective and appropriate. This will include blood tests as well as physical examination. If side effects are beginning to appear, reducing the dose of Palladia or temporarily withdrawing medication might resolve the side effects. Palladia is very effective for some dogs, but does not work in all cases. If the tumour is progressing despite treatment, Palladia is unlikely to be of benefit and treatment should be stopped.
For full information on dosing and treatment guidelines, see the datasheet below.

Thank you for the fast and uncomplicated purchase and delivery of our first Palladia medication. Previously we had been insured for our golden retriever’s first cancer diagnosis and it was comforting to know how easy the process of ordering from a private veterinary prescription would be.

How do you review a cancer mitigation drug? The dog eats them, has no side effects and is still alive.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Palladia Tablets for Dogs, including answers from our team.

Our vet has prescribed Palladia 15mg for our cat. Is there a separate cat version of the drug, or is this suitable for cats and dogs?
Palladia 15mg can be used for cats only if it has been specifically prescribed by a veterinarian. Although it is primarily approved for dogs, veterinarians may recommend it for certain feline conditions under their supervision.

I have a prescription for 36 x 15 mg tablets. (4 week's supply) with 5 repeats. Can I order 2 x 20 x 15 mg tablets at a time?
As long as your prescription has not expired by the time you order again, then yes you can order up to the maximum quantity in as many smaller orders as you wish. We cannot dispense a total that is more than the total prescribed though (which is 216 tablets according to your description).
If ordering 2 x 20 tablets at a time then you could place a total of 5 of these orders before we would need a new script. Any remaining tablets on the script (in this case 16) can go towards a future order with a new script, as long as the script is still in date.

Should Palladia be stored in the refrigerator?
Hello Dennis,
The Palladia datasheet states that "Palladia does not require any special storage conditions."
I hope this helps.

Is Palladia first line for mct in poodles?
What other agents are used instead?
Thank you...

The best treatment is surgical removal where possible. Only if this is not feasible for some reason is it sensible to try medication of any sort. Palladia is a good choice to try, but your vet who is familiar with all aspects of your dog's condition and other health considerations is in the best position to decide.
