Rosehips are commonly found in hedgerows, and are powerful plant-based antioxidants. The antioxidants found in rosehips are mainly flavonoids and carotenoids, which are effective at neutralizing free radicals and preventing cell damage.
Rosehips are also a good source of vitamin C, a water-soluble antioxidant that is beneficial for several metabolic functions such as tissue growth and maintenance and immune regulation. It also provides significant benefits to joint and respiratory health by reducing the oxidative stress caused by molecules that cause cell damage, called free radicals.
Rosehips are a beneficial plant for all horses, especially those who are more active or require extra joint or respiratory support.
