Does this product treat tapeworms effectively
Nexmectin (ivermectin alone) will cover many roundworms, bots, strongyles etc., but will not eliminate tapeworms.
If you suspect tapeworm infection (for example, signs like ileocecal colic risk, poor body condition, certain diagnostic tests or if your worming schedule suggests tapeworms are involved), you will need a wormer that includes praziquantel or another cestocidal (tapeworm‑killing) agent.

It is worth noting that it is important to ensure good stable hygeine with the condition as repeat infection is not uncommon through grooming/itching. Cleaning the edges of the stable where your horse rubs, include the hay nets, as well as more frequent mucking out is advised alongside therapy.

Yes Nexmectin can be used safely to worm a pregnant/lactating mare and her foal. It is not recommended to worm your foal until at least 6 weeks of age though.
