NAF delivers Extra Performance for the health and maintenance of the foregut. NAF understands that training, competition, stabling and feeding issues can lead to added stress and therefore the need to give extra support. To improve the horse's diet NAF have developed and trialled GastriVet, naturally, for Five Star Performance.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding NAF GastriVet for Horses, including answers from our team.
Research
Please could you provide a link to the research/ trials results for this?
There are no clinical trials for this product, similar to other supplements of it's kind. If you are looking for an ulcer peventative that has been proven in clinical trials to help then I recommend Succeed, they have a paper published for this.

Hi,
What's the difference between the gastrivet pellets and the gastriaid powder supplement please? My horse is currently receiving veterinary omeprazole treatment for moderate ulcers but I'm looking for a supplement to use alongside and long term.
Many thanks,
Evie
Both GastriVet and GastriAid are used to support normal foregut function in your horse. GastriVet is slightly more comprehensive though, containing the same ingredients as GastriAid but other additions including Vitamin E, Zinc and an emulsifier. I recommend not using both but picking one and sticking to this in the long term.

Is this suitable to be given before riding with a small amount of chaff, rather than being used in their main feed?
Thanks
Yes this product can be used just before riding. It actually works well when used this way as it will line the stomach before exercise. It is recommended to feed it at least 15-30mins before the exercise itself.

Hi there,
I currently feed gastrivet to my horse with good results.
Is it safe to feed long term or is there another product I should switch to?
Thank you
Gastrivet contains natural ingredients and as such there are no known side effects. It is safe to use this product longterm. If you are getting get good results then I would continue with it rather than switching to something else.
