Description

Joint degradation and stiffness are very common issues in older dogs, with as many as 4 out of 5 experiencing symptoms. We understand that older joints have specialised requirements, and that’s why we have developed joint force® PLUS, our highest strength formula. Each tablet not only contains all the goodness found in our original 5-star formula, vital for long-term integrity of the joints, but is also packed with extra ingredients to promote maximum comfort & mobility in senior joints, so older dogs can continue to enjoy their golden years to the fullest! The tablets also include a higher concentration of omega-3, along with the structural powerhouse, collagen, and black pepper extract.

How does Joint Force® PLUS help?

  • High strength formula targets joints already showing signs of stiffness.

  • Helps to cushion & lubricate joints for maximum comfort & mobility.

  • Key ingredients support the repair & maintenance of joint tissue.

  • Antioxidants play an important role in actively reducing damage to the joints from free radicals.

Feeding guide:

Tablets can be given whole as a treat or mixed/crushed into food. When first using Joint Force® PLUS, we recommend you feed twice the daily amount for 4-6 weeks and then gradually reduce this by half a tablet per week until the daily maintenance quantity is reached. This is appropriate for most dogs long-term, however in some cases of severe stiffness, if signs begin to return after reducing, continue feeding twice the daily amount.

My dog is a 10 year old golden retriever with a partial tear on her cruciate joint . This is not a new injury , over 8 years ago, but stiffness was becoming noticeable. She’s seen by vet regularly and does also take a non steroidal pain medication, but this product seems to of enhanced its effect on mobility for her . Definitely moves easier in her back sore leg. It is easy to use …just add it into her dog food , and it’s gone . The package just gets posted through the letterbox too . Easy.

It’s difficult to tell with a dog because you can’t really ask him but my dog often used to walk around on three legs for a minute after lying down for a while. Now he is on these tablets, this very rarely ever happens, so I can only assume that the tablets are helping him.

Switching from Yumove

Chris McConnell

  • VioVet customer since 2014
  • From: Abertawe, United Kingdom

If I switch to Joint force from Yumove, do I need to give my dog the higher first “loading” dose, or can I just switch to the new supplements with the normal daily dose?

  • VioVet Staff

Joint Force Plus shares many of the same ingredients as YuMove but with some additional ingredients such as Omega 3 fish oil powder and Boswellia. You can switch straight and continue at maintenance dosing without issues, but if you want to be extra vigilent to ensure the best nutritional support then repeating a loading dose period for these additional ingredients is advised.

Feeding guide

Hayley

Would you recommend feeding the whole dose at the same time or splitting into 2? E.g. dog is on 4 per day initially, so should this be 2 in morning feed and 2 in the evening, or all at once?

  • VioVet Staff

You can feed the whole dose in one go or split into multiple doses through the day (e.g. 2 tablets once or 1 tablet twice daily). Either is suitable and will work well as long as the total dose has been given over 24 hours.

Joint Force v Yumove for senior dogs

Carolyn Williams

I have a 15 Yr old spaniel who is currently on 20kg of Meloxidyl with 2 tabs of Yumove daily. Would Joint Force plus for seniors be the same equivalent please?

  • VioVet Staff

I have listed the active ingredients of both below, highlighting in bold what they both share:

Joint Force Plus:
Glucosamine HCl 250mg, Green Lipped Mussel 180mg, Omega 3 Fish Oil Powder 50mg, Boswellia Serrata 40mg, Turmeric 25mg, Collagen 20mg, Vitamin C 12.5mg, Manganese 2mg, Hyaluronic Acid 2mg, Vitamin E 1mg, Black Pepper Extract 1mg.

YuMove Senior:
250mg Glucosamine HCl, 150mg Green Lipped Mussel Powder (containing Natural Chondroitin), 15mg Concentrated Fish Oil (source of Omega-3), 12.5mg Vitamin C, 15mg N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine, 1mg Vitamin E, 3mg Manganese Sulphate, 1.5mg Hyaluronic Acid.

As you can see they share many of the same ingredients, although some of the ingredients levels will vary within. The main differences are that YuMove Senior has N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine and Joint Force Plus has Boswellia, Turmeric with Black Pepper Extract and Collagen.
Four of the key ingredients regarding joint support (Glucosamine, Green Lipped Mussel, Omega-3s and Hyaluronic Acid) are found within both.

Hay

Can you confirm how much glucosamine is in this please. Is it safe to give with prednisolone, paracetamol, rosehip and antinol please.?

  • VioVet Staff

Joint Force Plus contains 250mg Glucosamine HCl per tablet. Yes, it is safe for use alongside prednisolone and paracetemol. Rosehip is a herb and so it is unknown how this will interact, herbs contain multiple different ingredients within them. However it is likely to be safe for use alongside this.
Antinol and Joint Force Plus share Vitamin E and Green Lipped Mussel as active ingredients. This means you will likely be doubling up on the dose of these if used together. However both are safe ingredients and this is unlikely to cause any issues.

Can you use with devils claw

Nicola

  • VioVet customer since 2023
  • From: Shropshire, United Kingdom

I'm currently given are 11 year old labradoodle Blooming Pets Devils Claw Liquid for Dogs & Cats, which has worked to some extent, but he seems to be getting a bit creaky again. Can I give these tablets alongside the devils claw or does one negate the need for the other?

  • VioVet Staff

It is unknown exactly how the two products will interact as there currently is minimal research into how Devil's Claw works. However, it is very likely both will be safe for use alongside each other.

Can this supplement be used on a hypoallergenic diet?

Kerry Suggitt

  • VioVet customer since 2022
  • From: East Riding of Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Hello my dog is on an hypoallergenic diet alongside apoquel medication as he has reoccurring ear infections. Is this supplement safe to take for him or will there be protein that may set his problems off?

  • VioVet Staff

This supplement and others which contain ingredients to support the joint are shellfish based and so they will interfere with a diet trial. It is best to run the diet change past your vet to be certain if it is appropriate. It will be suitable as long as your dog is not reactive to any of the specific ingredients within.

Hello my dog is on an hypoallergenic diet alongside apoquel medication as he has reoccurring ear infections. Is this supplement safe to take for him or will there be protein that may set his problems off?

  • VioVet Staff

This depends on what your dog is allergic to. If you know the food allergens that set off your pet then please have a read of the ingredients, pasted below. If they are not present then it should be safe for use.
If your dog is on a dietary trial and you are unsure of the exact food allergens then it is advised to discuss this with your vet before adding it in. The most common ingredients within joint supplements are shellfish based and so this may set off certain pets who are allergic to this:
