Feed and electrolytes

Sarah Douglas

Hi can you use gold label electrolyte liquid in horses feed instead of water? If so how much do you put in? Thanks

  • VioVet Staff

You can do this and within reason you can add as much as you wish, but you must mix it with the correct volume of water first. If your horse is dehydrated then it could help, but otherwise it will be unlikely to make any difference. You should not add the product to food without mixing it with water first, or you could potentially dehydrate your horse further. I would suggest that you just add water to the food and offer the electrolytes in drinking water if your horse is (or could be) dehydrated.
