WhenThe vet suggested George my 11 year old Springer spaniel would need pain Relief for the rest of his life. This was due to cruciate ligament operations when he was around 6 years old on both rear legs. Obviously this was going to be expensive long term so we turned to viovet who we used previously. The medication comes in small tablets which are easily snapped in half and crushed in to his meals as he is fed twice a day. So far he has never experienced any stomach issues and has been on the tablets for over 2 years. They give George a quality of life and us the confidence that George is not suffering daily pain. Would definitely recommend.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Galliprant Tablets for Dogs, including answers from our team.
Stacey
Is this medication restricted in such a way that my vet cannot provide a prescription which will cover 6 months? They see my dog in person every month for an examination prior to his Librella injection but state they can’t do any longer than 3 months legally. Is this correct?
The Vets have their own requirements and procedures that they will use. This may be due to the dosage your dog requires, or the need to see your dog to decide whether after 3 months, the dose required is still the same or whether your dog still needs it.
For this item, we accept prescription up to 6 months - unless otherwise specified by the vet. If the vet only prescribes it for 3 months, this is what we will follow.

Can I administer this to our tripaw Cockapoo who has Kidney disease ?
This is a prescription-only medication, so I would reach out to your prescribing vet for any advice.

Is this a chewable tablet?

My dog weighs about 7kg max I have 20mg tabs. How much should I give her.
This is a prescription only medication so you should contact your prescribing vet regarding doseage.
According to the datasheet a 7kg dog will need one 20mg tablet once daily. It's very important you check this medication is suitable with your vet though.

What is the dosage?
The dose according to the datasheet is as follows:
Administer this veterinary medicinal product on an empty stomach (e.g. in the morning) and at least one hour before the next meal, once daily at a target dose of 2 mg per kg body weight.
It is a prescription only medication so you will need to contact your vet so they can write you a prescription to purchase it from our website. They will be able to advise on an appropriate doseage for your dog's weight/condition.

Hi my dog is on 1x 20mg tab galliprant per day could i give him 1.5 tab 30mg per day if i thought he needed extra pain relief he weighs 10kg .
Thanks
Galliprant has a set dose range within which it is safe to use. Increasing the dose is unlikely to have a greater effect but is quite likely to cause side effects. We strongly advise discussing any dose changes with your vet and not going outside of their recommended dose range unless advised.
If you feel your dog is in pain even on Galliprant then further treatment options can be added alongside this. it is worth discussing these with your vet.

Can you buy more than one months worth of medication on one prescription from the vet?
Hello,
Thank you for your question,
We can supply up to as many as your vets put on your prescription. So if you have for example 100 to be supplied you can purchase them all in one go if you wish.
We can not supply more than your vet has prescribed and a prescription can be valid for up to 6 months,
Thank you,
