Equimins Milk Thistle Herbs are produced from a small prickly plant native to the Mediterranean region. The name comes from the milky fluid that leaks out when the leaves or stems are broken. Milk Thistle is often recommended for liver support and cleansing, but its herbal power goes far beyond the health of the liver. Recent studies on milk thistle seed and extract indicate that this herb, used in traditional applications for at least the past two and a half millennia, has ingredients which can have incredibly powerful effects in many parts of the body.

Frank is now on bute for his arthritis & his last blood test proved that his liver is compromised, so the vet recommended to put him on milkthistle. This product is easy to put in his feed & it obviously tastes ok, so I'm just hoping it helps him.

This is good value. My mum bought a similar product from our local feed merchant (who are normally very fair on their pricing) and paid ten pounds more, and that's including postage. If it lasts the 60 days as stated we will be very happy! Incidentally we started on the powdered milk thistle on our vet's advice after our horse tested positive for liver damage last summer. After about a month on it his enzyme count was much better so we have kept him on it in order to support his liver function. So far it seems to be doing a good job and he is full of energy.

I bought this to support 2 of my horses. One of which is ex track & a cribber & another of mine that is 29...just to give a little bit of liver support. They both eat it well in their food & just generally overall well being is better. The cribber is cribbing less!

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Equimins Milk Thistle Herbs, including answers from our team.
Sarah
Hi my horse has raised liver enzymes and have been recommended milk thistle to help, she is extremely fussy with her food so I ant see the powder working she has been on a liver tonic and we've been stringing this into her mouth could I do the same with the liquid milk thistle
The liquid milk thistle can be given into the feed or straight into the mouth after food, whatever is easier for your horse.

Hi is there any reason providing I use the correct dose that this cannot be given to our elderly dog? She has been on milk thistle renal problems since last year and the vet says her level have stayed the same so to continue with the milk thistle. This seems better value than the dog ones.
This product is more suited to the digestive system of a horse and is unlikely to be digested and absorbed properly by a dog. We would not recommend using it in a dog.
