Dog & Field's Original Clone range prints this 1lb dummy with a high-definition photographic reproduction of hen pheasant feathering, giving a dog a genuinely different visual mark from the brighter cock pheasant pattern. At the standard 1lb weight used across UK gundog work and field trials, it builds the same carrying confidence as the cock pheasant dummy, but the duller, more camouflaged hen colouring is a useful addition for any dog that will be picking up mixed bags, since hens and cocks fall differently against cover and can be genuinely harder to mark and locate. Training with both patterns side by side helps a dog learn to recognise pheasants regardless of plumage, rather than keying in on one obvious colouring. Built from tough canvas to withstand repeated retrieves and handling drills, it sits at the core training weight most trainers use before moving a dog on to heavier or more specialist work. A sensible pairing with the cock pheasant dummy for any household building a reliable, all-round retriever ahead of the pheasant season.
