Dog & Field's Original Clone® range brings genuine field realism to gundog training, and the Dummy Ball takes that idea into a ball-shaped format rather than the usual canvas bird shape. Wrapped in a high-definition photographic canvas print of real cock pheasant feather patterns, it gives your dog the same visual and scent cues as the genuine bird while staying light, compact and easy to throw. Being a ball rather than a bird shape, it bounces and rolls unpredictably on landing and buries itself in long grass, rough cover or hedgerow bottoms, so a dog has to hunt it out rather than simply mark and collect it — useful for building retrieving drive in young dogs and sharpening the nose of more experienced ones. It is buoyant, so it doubles up for water work, and comes fitted with a rope and toggle for easy throwing and recovery. Carried in a game bag or training vest between sessions, it will pick up real game scent, adding a further layer of realism. A practical way to bridge the gap between routine dummy work and a cock pheasant's bright, unmistakable plumage on a driven day.
