Description

Dodson & Horrell Daily Vitamins & Minerals is a general purpose supplement containing a wide range of vitamins and minerals for a balanced diet for your horse, whatever their size or age. Horses kept at grass, that are not working, prone to weight gain and given small amounts of hard feed can benefit from this supplement to stop vitamin deficiencies from occurring.

Key Benefits

  • Complete range of vitamins and minerals.
  • Contains our patented QLC antioxidant package.
  • Low calorie ideal for good-doers.
  • Low in starch and sugar suitable for those prone to laminitis.

Feeding Guidelines

Feed 15g/100kg bodyweight per day to horses and ponies at rest or in light work.

For example:

  • 200-400kg pony approx 1/4 scoop to 1/2 scoop
  • 400-600kg horse approx 1/2 scoop to 1 scoop

A 500kg horse would require 3/4 scoop per day.

If feeding less than the recommended amounts of a concentrate feed, adjust the levels of Daily Vitamins & Minerals accordingly or contact our Helpline for advice.

Good product but....

the multivitamins work well for my horse and I have been using them for about 2 years. That's a new tub every month. That's 24 blue plastic tubs destined for landfill. I did write to them and ask if they do refills but never got a reply. Would be cheaper too.

Both my horses have this included in their diet. It's very palatable and gives them a shiny coat with dapples.

Perfect for chunky ponies

Fantastic, my pony is on zero feed and soaked haylage, so having a product that gives him his daily vits and mins without having to bulk out with unnecessary feed or calories is just perfect. So simple, one big scoop a day, job done. He clears it up and is looking for more. One tub a month on subscription with VioVet means I don't even have to think about it when he's getting low.

Seems to be effective

I bought this for my horse primarily for winter months as her feed is pretty basic. She has improved condition in her coat and general health.
She took it straight away and doesn’t leave any feed. She has left feed with other products.

Lami

Cath

I’ve been told my Lami/EMS pony should have a Vitamin & mineral supplement due to restricted grazing and diet, is this suitable for him?

  • VioVet Staff
  • Low in starch and sugar, making it ideal for laminitis-prone equines

  • Contains a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals, fortified with an antioxidant blend (QLC package) to support overall health

  • Low-calorie — purposefully designed for “easy keeper” or good-doer ponies, helping prevent unwanted weight gain

Yes, it’s an excellent choice:

  • Designed specifically for laminitis-prone ponies due to its low NSC content

  • Helps prevent critical vitamin and mineral deficiencies common when grazing is restricted or hay quality varies

  • Supports balanced nutrition without adding excessive calories or sugar.

Yearling - forage only diet.

Paula Whitford

Hi There,

My yearling gets forage/hay twice a day and out on grass during the day. I do have your uniblock vitamin and mineral block in her stable at all times but I'm not sure if she is really licking it. Can you give this supplement also with what I am already doing and if so, how? Do you sprinkle this over her forage? She gets fed on the ground.

Many Thanks,

Paula

  • VioVet Staff

Hello,

Thank you for your query.

It is very dependant on how much the horse is using the Uniblock. If the yearling barely touches it then, yes, these would be great, but equally if the horse is using it quite a lot, you wouldn't necessarily need the extra vits and mins on top.

However saying this, if you would like to feed this supplement with the Uniblock, it would not be unsafe to do so as any vits/mins which cannot be used by the body will simply be expelled via urine or faeces.

I hope this helps.
