Porus® One is a breakthrough daily kidney health support for senior cats. 80% of cats aged 15+ have impaired kidney function.
As cats age they can need support to help maintain healthy renal function. This can result in a build-up of waste products (uraemic toxins) in their bodies that would normally be removed or regulated by the kidneys. This is harmful to their health.
How does Porus® One work?
Porus® One travels harmlessly through your cat’s gut, sweeping up tiny particles that will turn into toxins if left where they are. Porus One is then safely excreted, along with these potentially harmful particles, in your cat’s faeces.
How to use
Using Porus® One is so easy. Simply sprinkle the contents of one sachet onto your cat’s normal wet food. You can use it with any brand or type of wet cat food including renal diets. Use one sachet per day. If your cat prefers dry cat food, mix Porus® One with our tasty Add® One cat treat and mix into their usual dry food.

What is Porus® One?
Developed by vets, Porus® One is a daily oral support for senior cats and cats that have impaired kidney function.
How is Porus® One used?
Porus® One is a powder this is sprinkled on your cat’s wet food. It has a neutral taste and smell so your cat will not notice it. For cats that prefer dry food, Porus® One can be mixed with a moist cat treat such as Add® One.
How long should I offer Porus® One to my cat?
It is perfectly safe to offer Porus® One to your cat every day.
What’s in the box?
1 box of Porus® One contains 30 single-dose sachets, each containing 500 mg of Renaltec©.
How does Porus® One work?
Porus® One acts like a very selective vacuum cleaner in the cat’s gut, only ‘sucking up’ harmful toxins (known as uraemic toxins) and particles that will become uraemic toxins if left where they are (these are called precursors). Porus® One is then safely excreted, along with the precursors and uraemic toxins, in the cat’s faeces.
Porus® One does not remain in the cat’s body. It does not remove anything apart from precursors and toxins. Vitamins, enzymes and cells are all unaffected.
Can Porus® One be absorbed?
Porus® One cannot be broken down by your cat’s digestive juices. The spheres themselves are much too large to be absorbed. Therefore Porus® One is 100% excreted via your cat’s faeces.
Which substances are adsorbed by Porus® One and why?
Porus® One consists of tiny black spheres with numerous holes known as pores on their surface. The pores have been specially designed so that only the precursors of uraemic toxins can enter.
Is Porus® One able to ‘suck up’ vitamins?
No. Vitamins are too large to enter the Porus® One spheres. The same is true of cells and enzymes.
How long does Porus® One remain in the gut?
Depending on the speed of your cat’s digestive system, Porus® One is excreted with the faeces after 12-36 hours.
Is it ok to use Porus® One with my usual cat food?
Porus® One can be use with any kind of cat food including special renal/kidney diets. Does your cat prefer dry food? Mix Porus® One with a moist cat treat such as Add® One and mix into their dry food to encourage them to eat it. If the cat is taking any oral medicines, we recommend you wait for 2 hours before giving Porus® One. A P-binder can be given at the same time if required.
I feed my cat several times a day. Why do I have to give Porus® One once daily?
One dose per day is all that is needed. The surface area of the spheres in a single sachet of Porus One is the equivalent of 3 tennis courts.
What happens if I overdose Porus® One, i. e. giving two sachets instead of one?
Since Porus® One is not absorbed by the cat’s gut, it won’t cause any unwanted side effects. If you accidentally give an extra dose all it will do is bind an even higher quantity of precursors of uraemic toxins. Then it will be fully excreted so cannot cause any harm to the cat.
Why is the daily dose of Porus® One equal for any cat, irrespective of its body weight?
Although cats do vary in weight, the daily dose of 500 mg Porus® One takes this into account. The large surface area of each sphere ensures that enough uraemic toxins and precursors of uraemic toxins are absorbed and excreted.
My cat only eats dry food. How should I use Porus® One?
Mix one sachet of Porus® One with a spoonful of moist food or paste such as Add® One and mix into their dry food. They’ll lap it up. *Remember that cats being fed exclusively on dry food should have access to fresh drinking water at all times.

My cat has a kidney failure stage 3, and recently she was eating less and less. I purchased this product, and I believe it's effective. She is eating more of her dry food now, as she prefers it over wet food. I have to give it to her mixed with lick a lick. I bought this and I think it works.
