Description

Cardalis tablets are a new and unique combination medication for the treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs. The tablets contain benazepril and spironolactone in the correct proportions to optimally reduce the harmful effects which result from heart failure. Cardalis medication helps to keep blood vessels open, prevent thickening and fibrosis of blood vessel walls, reduces the fibrosis and stiffening of the heart muscle and reduce the accumulation of fluid in the body. Scientific tests have demonstrated very significant improvements in quality of life and overall life expectancy in dogs treated with Cardalis.

Cardalis can be used in combination with other heart medications to further improve the beneficial effects. The typical symptoms of congestive heart failure in dogs are a persistent cough, reduced exercise tolerance and reduced appetite. All of these will usually improve in dogs taking Cardalis. The small, beef flavoured tablets should be given once daily for life.

Longer delivery time due to Viovet moving premises. Prior Notification of the move would have helped timing of repeat order.

I am going to Italy for4 months. Can I order a sufficient amount for the period. My dog has been prescribed 1 2.5mg/20mg tablet per day along with two other non prescription talets

  • VioVet Staff

Yes, you can order a sufficient supply of Cardalis 2.5mg/20mg tablets for your dog’s 4-month stay in Italy, provided you have a valid veterinary prescription. Cardalis is a Prescription Only Medicine (POM-V) in the UK, and pharmacies require a prescription to dispense it.

Hi, how many and what size would you suggest I purchase for my labrador who is 5 years old and 37kg

  • VioVet Staff

This is a prescription only medication so you should discuss which dose you need with your local vet who will prescribe the product for you.
According to the datasheet your 37kg will need 1 x Cardalis 10mg/80mg tablet once daily.

Can cardalis increase thrust in dogs

  • VioVet Staff

Cardalis contains spironolactone which has a mild diuretic effect. Often this is not significant enough to be very noticeable, but the effect varies and some dogs will certainly be more thirsty and will produce more urine. They should always have free access to water.
