Sandfly Protection

Chris

Is Canishield collar ok to use in conjunction with Nexguard Spectra ?
Thanks

  • VioVet Staff

Yes, in principle—there’s no pharmacological overlap or known interaction between deltamethrin collars and afoxolaner/milbemycin tablets. The collar acts externally, while NexGuard works internally. Some vets even recommend combining topical and oral treatments to broaden protection (especially in dogs at high risk from ticks, fleas, etc.).

Are collars safe if chewed? As a multidog household, collar chewing is frequent during play.
