An award-winning Eucalyptus and Avocado formulation that repels all species of fly without harsh chemicals.
As well as warding off fly attacks, this long-lasting product soothes the irritation of bites and nourishes the hair and skin. Bites can lead to the horse rubbing the area, which can break the skin and form potential for infection. This formula is suitable even to apply to these broken and sore areas, relieving the horse's need to rub and promoting faster healing.
The benchmark for natural fly sprays since 1990, it is available in both trigger spray for wide coverage and gel format for hard to access areas.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Barrier Super Plus Fly Repellent, including answers from our team.
Jacob
Hi one of my dogs keeps being bitten inside her ears, then the blood from the first bite attracts more flies, and more blood. Is this product safe to be used on open wounds, and/or on dogs ears.
This product is formulated for use on horses, ponies and donkeys and does not specify it is safe to use on dogs
While Barrier Super Plus Fly Repellent is a natural product, its use on open wounds or sensitive areas in dogs is not recommended without veterinary guidance. Always consult your veterinarian before applying any fly repellent to ensure the safety and well-being of your pet.

Can this gel be used on human skin
Not for use on humans. Harmful if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through skin. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing

A vet told me that it would be cheaper to use a horse protection from flies repellent. Would this one be safe?
This product is only licensed for use in horses and so we cannot guarantee it will be safe in rabbits. It is best asking your vet which product they are thinking of.
If you would like rabbit safe fly repellants then I recommend checking out Rearguard and Johnson's Fly Strike Protect Spray.

Can this product be used around the eyes and under a fly mask ?
Barrier products are made from natural essential oils and natural blending products so can be used all over the horse and around the eyes and muzzle, also between the legs and outer sheath and teat area. As with all non surgical grade products they need to be kept out of the inner eye, mucus membranes and globe. Apply a very light layer of product to the areas covers with skin/hair. Fly masks are designed to protect the eyes from flies, so it may not be necessary to use the gel under the mask in any event. A good idea is to use the gel around the muzzle and put a small amount on to the area of mask itself that is at the lowest point to provide the same effect. If putting any product under masks it’s advisable to check the horse doesn’t sweat as the product residue can then drip into the eye /membrane.

can this be used by humans to stop midges
This product is intended for use on horses only, any use on humans is off license and may be unsafe. I reccommend contacting your local pharmacy for information on midge repellants for people.

My horse had an allergic reaction to the Barrier Super Plus Fly Spray and to Leovet Power Phaser Spray. What are the ingredients so that I can avoid using them in future, can you recommend an alternative fly repellent that does not share ingredients with these products?
Hello Katherine,
Thank you for your question.
The active ingredient in the Barrier Super Plus Fly Spray is Citriodiol which is a Eucalyptus/Lemongrass combination. Other ingredients are Chamomile, Tea Tree, Geraniol and Coconut derivatives.
Hope this helps.
