What is the protein% on this product please? Looking for high protein layers pellets and also a separate low calcium product for cockerels please
The Argo Golden Yolk Layers Pellets contain 17% crude protein, making them suitable as a maintenance feed for laying hens.
For cockerels, especially those not yet laying, it's advisable to provide a feed with lower calcium content to support healthy growth. The Argo Golden Yolk Layers Pellets have a calcium level of 2.5%, which is appropriate for laying hens but may be too high for cockerels.
To support your cockerels' growth without the risk of kidney damage associated with high calcium intake, consider feeding them a Grower Pellets or All-Flock Feed with lower calcium levels. These are formulated to meet the nutritional needs of young birds not yet laying.
Once your cockerels reach point of lay, you can transition them to the Argo Golden Yolk Layers Pellets to support egg production.
