As a dog border, Walker and running doggy daycare from home I absolutely love this. I volunteer for one of the largest dog rehoming centres in uk and this is what they use so I started using this and my house is always clean and smells lovely ( no doggy smells) and piece of mind that all diseases, viruses and bacteria is also killed. 5 stars

15 Disappointed

Have used this product before but this time bought the apple fragrance and I must say it does not have the same strength. We have outside Kennels which need disinfecting twice a day and this apple fragrance does not disguise the smell at all. Very disappointed.

Ok for Felines

Topcatsuk

Are all the products DEFRA approved for use in catterys as I only see the defra approved on ome bottle in the photos

  • VioVet Staff

There is no legal need to use a DEFRA approved disinfectant if you run a vets surgery, kennel or cattery, unless there is an outbreak of a notifiable animal disease. The disinfectant you need depends on what the disease outbreak is. Anigene HLD4ND (the dill version) is DEFRA approved for diseases of poultry but not anything else. The rest in the range are good disinfectants but not DEFRA approved for specific diseases.

If you have a specific disease you need to cover for then please email us at [email protected] and we can advise on some appropriate DEFRA approved disinfectants.

Will it stop the cat have a pee on the litter tray?

SUIE TOMASINI

If I use it to deep clean the cat litter tray. I'm worries if it's good which can off the urine smell, so that will it stop my cat to stop using the litter tray ?

  • VioVet Staff

Your cat should be urinating in this area due to the familiar smell of the litter, placement of the litter tray and texture of the litter itself. The smell of urine still being present is a factor but should not make a significant difference, your cat should still urinate in the litter tray even after it is cleaned with this product.

Coronavirus

J Schofield

Does this kill coronavirus? How much alcohol does it contain?
J Schofield

  • VioVet Staff

H Josephine,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Because Coronavirus is so new, manufacturers have not had access to
the virus in order to test their products with it, so products cannot
currently claim to be effective against Coronavirus.

Given that this product is effective against a number of viruses,
there is a good chance that it will be suitable for use as part of your
protective strategy but until the manufacturer has had access to test a
specific viral strain with the product, it cannot be guaranteed.

Using a good disinfectant with virucidal activity around the home
would be expected to greatly reduce risk to families - especially in
addition to following government guidelines for hand hygiene, social
distancing etc.

I hope this is helpful. We hope you and your family stay safe and well.

Hand wash?

Michael Møller Sørensen

Is this safe to spray on your hands? To wash Them ?

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Michael,

This product is not for use on skin and we do not recommend using it for hand washing. You can use it for cleaning floors and surfaces, and it has been proven safe for use across a range of materials without damaging them - the full list is in the product description on our website.

For floors, the product should be diluted 1 part Anigene to 100 parts water (eg 10ml of product into 1 litre of water.

For 'higher risk' surfaces it can be used at a dilution of 1:50 (eg 10ml product in 500ml water).

If your question about hand washing relates to Coronavirus, we'd recommend following government guidelines on hand washing, and where this is not possible use a dedicated hand sanitiser.

I hope this helps. Stay safe & well!

Does it need to be rinsed off metal surfaces? Is it corrosive?

J

Does this product need to be rinsed off metal surfaces or is it non-corrosive at the recommended dilutions? Thank you.

  • VioVet Staff

Hello,

Thank you for your query.

This disinfectant has been tested against the following metals which have successfully demonstrated no corrosion/deterioration.

Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Aluminium, Copper, Brass and other materials found in clinical practice. I understand this is very vague, so it is always advisable to conduct a small patch test on any material not mentioned above for absolute assurance.

The surface does not need to be rinsed off afterwards as it may affect the efficiency of the product.

I hope this helps.

Safe for dogs whilst wet?

Jacqueline Neil

  • VioVet customer since 2016
  • From: Essex, United Kingdom

Is this safe for my dog to walk on whilst still wet (cleaning patio)?

  • VioVet Staff

Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch.

We do advise rinsing it first before letting your dog walk on it, but if this is not an option, just make sure it is very diluted.

Hope that helps,

VioVet.

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Anne,

Thank you for your question.

I have spoken to Anigene and they have advised me that you can use this but you will need to soak for 20 minutes and rise thoroughly!

Does this kill Giardia spores?

Victoria Davies

  • VioVet customer since 2014
  • From: Sir Gaerfyrddin, United Kingdom

As per the title, my vet wasn't sure. He suggested Tristel Anistel, but this is out of stock in the small size.

  • VioVet Staff

This product should be effective against Giardia spores as long as there is not a lot of organic debris around and you follow the dilution instructions. A lot of dirt will get in the way of most disintectants, so everything needs to be cleaned before it is disinfected.
