45 Handy for minor wounds
Verified Purchase

I prefer this to any other brand s. It provides a barrier to help keep off flies and protect from dirt. I use this product for horses . I’ve mainly used it for minor wounds - or as directed by my vet on one occasion. It does help small scuffs and bite wounds heal once they have been cleaned, deep or possibly infected wounds would need to be checked out out first by the vet.

I haven't used it yet, but a friend of mine uses it all the time for cuts on her dogs and even on chicken after dog attack and it worked amazingly.

45 Excellent product but silver is alarming!
Verified Purchase

By on 2 November 2020

It certainly helped our dog's wound *stitches from an operation) heal more quickly than it might. (She is a 13 year old Sheltie). When you spray it on it looks like quicksilver which is a bit alarming if you are not expecting it. Information on canister SO SMALL we couldn't read it without a magnifying glass.

55 One to keep in

I used this on a Basset that had what looked like a tumour under her bottom jaw that the others kept licking at purely to see if it would stop them , it did but also the black skin over the area went from the outside in to leave new pink skin . I can only think this was a infection after all but my vet thought a tumour & had said he couldn’t remove it as he would have to remove half her jaw then she couldn’t eat . I’ve also used it on open wounds it’s great stuff to keep for emergencies

Usage

loz

can this be use on a rabbit with stitches

  • VioVet Staff

This spray can be used on wounds, with/without stitches present, of all animals as a protective barrier to prevent micro-organisms and dirty entering the site. It will not prevent licking though so if the area is being groomed then I would avoid using it as it should not be ingested in large quantities.
If your pet is under veterinary care you should run any changes, like using a wound spray, past your vet first.

Open wound treatment

Melanie Shipman

I am currently using flamazine cream from the vet on my dogs wound could I use alluspray and does it do the same job as flamazine

  • VioVet Staff

Aluspray is an aluminium based spray that helps protect wounds/skin from infection. Flamazine is a silver based cream that helps protects but also moisturises the area. I would stick with your vet's advice and use Flamazine as your vet may have taken into account the additional effects, or may be wanting a silver based cream specifically for your dog's condition.
