Snoop acts as best man at owner's wedding

Greyhound and lurcher crossbreed Snoop is so loved by his owners that he was chosen to be the best man at their wedding.

Sue and Michael Hopkins from Gendros, Wales, couldn't think of anything better than having their faithful pet act as the best man, reports This is South Wales.

As part of his duties, Snoop carried the wedding rings in a pouch attached to his dog collar and lead, and played stay at the altar.

Mrs Hopkins told the news provider: "It was the vicar's idea to put the rings around Snoop's neck. We were not worried that he would run off with them as he is a good boy."

The beloved dog could not attend the reception as his owners were worried he would be given titbits to supplement his dog food.

He will be taken on their honeymoon however as the couple intend to stay at a dog-friendly hotel.

Snoop hasn't always been so well treated as his owners got him from a rescue home when he was 12 months old.

He had been mistreated and used to be locked in a shed, which made it hard for him to settle but Mrs Hopkins is glad she was patient with him.
