A Pomeranian was willing to share its dog toys with a lamb after befriending the orphaned animal.
Gillian McMillan from West Kilbride, Ayrshire, bought the lamb into her home after its mother died hours after its birth, reports the Daily Record.
However, she wasn't expecting her pet Pomeranian Fifi to fall for the lamb, which she named Lucky.
She told the news provider: "The first night Lucky stayed in the house, she guarded his basket and watched him intently. It was like she was willing him to live.
"I've never seen Fifi like that with anyone. Fifi is more lamb's best friend than man's best friend. They adore each other."
Ms McMillan added that normally Fifi wants all of her attention and has no interest in other dogs at all.
Lucky eventually started copying Fifi by bleating when the dog started barking. The sheep has now become too big to live in the house, so was sent to live in a nearby field with others of its kind.
Pomeranians are normally a friendly and lively breed that love to be around their owners and can become protective of them.
