London dogs owners invited to special event

Thursday, 10th May 2012

Dog owners living in or around London may want to head over to Camden on Saturday (May 5th) as a special Love Your Dog, Love Your Community day is being held.

Camden Council will be joined by the Kennel Club to offer advice on responsible ownership and free microchipping. There will also be a chance to pick up some free pet toys and other goodies too.

Caroline Kisko, Communications Director, said: "The Love Your Dog, Love Your Community event is a fantastic opportunity for local dog owners to get invaluable information on how best to care for their dog, and we would recommend anyone who owns a dog, or is indeed thinking of getting a dog, to go along and see what is on offer."

People attending will have the chance to speak to the Kennel Club about ownership issues, such as the dangers of leaving dogs in cars, the importance of training and cleaning up after your pet.

The event will take place in Polygon Open Space in Camden between 11am and 2pm.

The free microchipping on offer may prove popular at the event, as the government recently announced that it is now compulsory for owners to have their dog chipped.
