Football fanatic dog looking for new home

Whoever adopts a certain dog from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will have little trouble finding out what his favourite kind of pet toys are, as the animal has proved himself footie-mad.

Gunner, a Rottweiler, was given to Battersea’s Brands Hatch centre after his owner was unable to keep him anymore.

Tanya Madden, rehoming and welfare assistant at the charity, said: "Gunner would love to live with a family of football fans, especially if he could chill out with them and watch the big games on TV.

"As he's a Gunner we can imagine him suiting Arsenal fans, but he's a bit of a fair weather fan and would happily switch his allegiance to another team."

She added that Gunner is a champion and is just looking to find a new home. The charity noted that he enjoys long walks, tasty dog food and lots of cuddles.

Battersea was founded in 1860 and since then it has cared for over three million animals. Every year, the charity has looked after over 10,600 dogs and cats.
