English Heritage offering dog owners treats

Thursday, 14th April 2011

Dog owners may want to take their pooch and their dog collar and lead down to an English Heritage site this weekend.

According to the Morpeth Herald, owners can take their four-legged friend down to specific English Heritage sites and enjoy two-for-one entry.

The offer is part of National Pet Month, which runs between April 2nd and May 2nd.

An attraction where this offer is available is Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens. The offer will run until this Sunday (April 17th).

English Heritage spokeswoman Caroline Sinclair said: "The majority of our sites are dog-friendly, welcoming dogs on leads, and dogs are known for being loyal creatures so we wanted to return the loyalty by offering their owners an incentive to bring them along."

Belsay Hall is a 14th century medieval castle situated at Belsay, Northumberland.

The main structure was constructed around 1370 and it was the home of the Middleton family.
