Dog TV could be about to hit our screens

Many owners who aren't able to take their dog to work with them are faced with the dilemma of how to keep their pet entertained and stimulated while they are home alone. Hiring a dog-sitter is too expensive for most people, and leaving doors open for pets to run around freely is simply not a practical solution.

However, an entrepreneur from Israel may now have come up with the answer after launching a new television channel which aims to appeal specifically to dogs.

Ron Levi claims to have developed the idea while looking for ways to prevent his pet cat Charlie from becoming bored or lonely during the daytime when he was at home, and the channel has now been launched in both Israel and the US.

The images displayed on Dog TV have been designed to catch canines' attention, with specific colour shades that can be enjoyed by dogs despite the fact that they are colour-blind.

No launch date has yet been set for Dog TV in the UK, although the channel is available online.
