An Israeli artist named Nirit Levav Packer has begun sculpting dogs out of discarded bike chains and other parts, with demand for her pedal-powered pooches so high that she has even quit her day job as a wedding dress designer to become a full time sculptor.
Amongst Ms Packer's collection are a sausage dog with pedals for feet and a bike seat for a head, a British bulldog with bike-bells for ears, and an Afghan hound with a dangly coat made of long bike chains.
Inspiration for the project came when Ms Packer found a bunch of old chains that had been thrown out from her son's bike shop, and the sculptures are now selling for between £700 and £7,000.
