Cat lovers invited to sew cushions for charity

Tuesday, 22nd May 2012

Animal lovers are being asked to pick up a needle and thread to sew cushions for the cats living in Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

The charity is asking people to make Kitty Cushions from leftover scraps of fabric to make comfortable beds for its residents.

Battersea said that the summer months are the busiest time as litters of unwanted kittens and pregnant cats coming in for care.

Ros Davies, from the charity, said: "We like to make the cats' stay as comfortable as possible and it means so much to us and the cats when people take the time and effort to make something for our kitties.

"We can'ft wait to see the cushions when they start coming in and know our cats will love them."

The Kitty Cushions have been designed by author and crafter Helen Phillips. She said that the project is a lovely idea and will bring some happiness to the unfortunate cats there.

Instructions on how to make the Kitty Cushions can be downloaded from the charity’s website.
