Battersea launches re-naming competition

Tuesday, 21st June 2011

A poor pooch whose dog collar and lead reads Froglette will soon be given a new name by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

The animal charity has called Froglette "the worst name in the country" and has launched a competition for people to offer suggestions for a new name.

No one at Battersea remembers why she was given this name in the first place, but they believe that when she came in she was "bouncy" like a frog.

Philip Heron, customer service manager at the charity, said: "Froglette is a really sweet girl, but we're worried her name is putting people off. Some people have said it's the worst dog name they've ever heard.

"We want everyone to send us their suggestions, and hopefully a new name will bring her some luck and transform this Froglette into a princess."

Suggestions for a new name for Froglette can be made on Battersea's Facebook page.
