A Staffordshire Bull Terrier that was abandoned is now being cared for by a new family, who are giving the animal pet medication for the injuries she suffered.
Izzy was discovered trapped in a drain during a storm in Barry, South Wales. Her jaw was broken in two places, reportsbarryanddistrictnews.co.uk.
She was found after neighbours heard her crying and she was taken to the vet where she was given surgery.
Izzy is not yet eating dog food, and is instead being fed liquidised chicken and rice. However, her new family are taking care of her and Barry residents have been collecting pet accessories, treats and bedding to help her recover.
Her new owner told the news provider: "She was pouring with blood from her mouth, but even after all that all she wanted to do was give everyone her paw.
"Her temperament is just so lovely."
The local council and the RSPCA are appealing for information about Izzy's abandonment.
