Yorkshire Terrier hits the big time as the face of Manchester Pet Show

The next star of the canine world has been found in the adorable form of 13-week-old Yorkshire Terrier Alfie.

He was plucked from hundreds of entries to become the poster dog for the Manchester Pet Show advertising campaign, Runcorn and Widnes Weekly News reports.

The puppy, from Widnes, will now appear on billboards in the north west region, direct mail, banners and social media advertising.

Alfie proved to be comfortable in front of the camera at his very first photoshoot last week - posing up a storm for the pictures.

Owner Steff Heaps, 21, of Clinton View, Hough Green, said:  "Everyone obviously thinks their pet is the best but to have someone else think the same is just amazing!"

Cat Geary, director of marketing and events for Manchester Pet Show said having local pets front the campaign was the ideal way to celebrate the first ever animal show in the north west.

The Manchester Pet Show takes place from September 7th and 8th at Eventcity and will cover all pet related topics from healthy dog food and cat food to grooming.
