Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are currently battling over the custody of their adopted pet dog, Bear.
The couple, who are stars of the Twilight films, recently split up following the emergence of pictures that showed Stewart kissing the director of Snow White and the Huntsman.
Stewart has a cat called Max, who she will keep, but Pattinson wants to keep Bear, the rescue dog they got from a shelter in New Orleans.
A source told RadarOnline.com that after Pattinson moved out of their apartment, he told the actress he wanted to keep the dog
"She was heartbroken - they adopted Bear together and she always felt that he was their little baby," they told the news provider.
"But Rob was so hurt by Kristen's actions he decided that he wants the dog to help him get over what happened. After all, a dog is a man's best friend and Bear is such a good companion."
Following the revelation of the affair, Stewart issued a public apology to Pattinson, saying she was deeply sorry for her actions.
