Primary school children in Hayes have been learning about what is involved in caring for a dog and how to be safe around them.
Battersea Brands Hatch visited Hayes Primary School as part of Doggie Week. The day also involved a visit from a chocolate Labrador called Tehya.
The trip aimed to help students understand dogs, such as what is involved in caring for a pet.
Malla Breeze, who visited the school from Battersea, said: "Tehya loves meeting children and had a wonderful time at Hayes Primary School. It’s really important that children understand how to interact safely with dogs, so the School’s Doggie Week is a fantastic initiative."
Oliver Harvey, from the school, added that his favourite part of the day was seeing Tayha wave her paw.
The primary school raised £185 for Battersea Brands Hatch at its Christmas Fair. To say thank you, the charity donated 15 of its children’s books to the library, which follow the adventures of a dog or cat from Battersea.
