A lucky pooch has now got a home where he can eat dog food and play with dog chew toys following a programme run by Metro Bank.
The high street bank recently ran a Dogs Rule Weekend, during which 14 dogs from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home taking part in an adopt-a-thon.
Gromit, a two-year-old Mongrel, was adopted by Maria and Simon Archer from Hertfordshire, who attended the weekend event to find a new four-legged friend.
The couple said: "We've wanted another dog for a while now and when we were introduced to Gromit we fell in love with him straight away.
"[Battersea] gave us some great advice on what type of dog would suit our lifestyle. We never thought we'd find our next dog in a bank, but he's perfect!"
According to Paul Marriott-Clarke, managing director of retail at Metro Bank, the weekend was a great success and that the bank plans to repeat this programme across all its branches.
