An Alaskan Malamute who was found in terrible living conditions last year has been rehomed with a loving new family.
Balto, whose previous owner was jailed for his neglect and banned from keeping dogs, was the centre of an appeal by the SSPCA.
The charity was looking for someone to come forward and give the eight-year-old a new home.
Luckily, Bruce Sangster heard about Balto's story and decided to give him the new home he needed.
He said: "I just fell in love with Balto as soon as I met him.
"It's very difficult to imagine how anyone could have treated him badly as he's such a friendly and affectionate dog.
"The important thing is that he has a great life from now on and I'm really pleased I can be the person to give him that."
Debbie Innes, centre assistant manager, added that it is amazing how happy Balto is with Mr Sangster and that they are happy the dog has found someone to provide the care he was deprived of.
