MPs who buy dog food and toys gathered in London for the Westminster Dog of the Year event, which took place on October 13th.
The winning animal was Wilberforce, a Labrador owned by Neil Parish, MP for Tiverton and Honiton.
Mr Parish said: "I'm delighted that Wilberforce has won and shown what a brilliant dog he is. I'm sure his constituents in Tiverton and Honiton will be as delighted as I am that their local dog has won such an accolade."
The competition, which is now in its 19th year, was run jointly by the Kennel Club and Dogs Trust.
Vanessa McAlpine, of the Kennel Club, said she was pleased to see a number of new faces at this year's competition, adding that the event shows how committed the participating MPs are to responsible dog ownership.
Last year's winner was Charlie, a Border Terrier owned by Helen Grant, the MP for Maidstone and The Weald in Kent.
