A group of runners is raising money to help a Greyhound rehoming charity buy supplies such as dog food.
Gill Harper and Paul Connor, of the Cobra Running Club in Halesowen in Dudley, will be running the London Marathon to raise money for the Hall Green Retired Greyhound Trust, reports the Halesowen News.
Gill Harper and Paul Connor will be running the 26 miles after Ms Harper and her family adopted a pet from the charity.
She said: "The Greyhound trust do the most wonderful job, by housing dogs in their kennels, ensuring they are warm, fed, exercised and well cared for, while their new owners are being found.
"This would not be the case without money from sponsorship, which is so greatly needed. We hope to raise about £500 for them."
The London Marathon is set to take place this weekend (April 17th). Last year's race was won by Tsegaye Kebede of Ethiopia with a time of two hours, five minutes and 19 seconds.
