Garbage frontwoman opens up about pet dog

Shirley Manson, the famed Garbage frontwoman, has opened up about her pet dog, which she rescued off the streets of Los Angeles.

The Scottish musician and actress, who also appeared in the hit US television show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, explained that she doesn't like to talk about her private life, but was more than happy to discuss Veela, who she said is some form of terrier.

Speaking about the terrier to the Daily Record, she said: "It is a recipe for disaster to talk about my personal life but I will happily talk about my dog until the cows come home.

"She's like a little ginger Jack Russell with a Mohawk, which she naturally has. She is meant for me. We found her in a shelter."

When she's not spoiling Veela with pet food and toys, she has been busy producing a solo album, collaborating with Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile, and, more recently, getting back together with Garbage.
